The Student Services Enhancement Fee, which took effect in Fall 2017, is already benefiting students across campus. Here are a few highlights:

Mizzou Libraries

  • Expanded Ellis Library hours to 24-hours-a-day during the week, closing only from midnight to 8 a.m. on Saturdays and from midnight to noon on Sundays
  • Funded security and safety updates, including additional security officers and staff at Ellis, security camera installation, and other safety and security updates
  • Renewed key online research resources
  • Hired a half-time maintenance attendant to help repair and maintain library furniture

MU Counseling Center

  • Hired one full-time counselor
  • Recruiting this spring to fill two additional full-time counseling positions
  • Funded two Mizzou Cares events to promote awareness of mental health resources available to students

Information Technology

  • Installed 13 new Wi-Fi access points in the Student Center with four more to be installed by the end of Spring Break

Missouri Student Unions

  • Waived equipment fees for room reservations for recognized student organizations
  • Updated audiovisual equipment, including projectors, in Stotler Lounge, The Shack and several meeting rooms in the MU Student Center
  • Added INK SmartStations to Memorial Union and the Student Center
  • Currently replacing lounge tables in the lower level of the Student Center
  • Added TVs and computers to all group study rooms

Dean of Students (leadership, service and campus activities)

  • Funding half the salary for a leadership training coordinator for the Office of Student Engagement
  • Supports a graduate-assistant adviser and programming for community service programs, such as Step Forward Day
  • Waived event set-up service fees from MSA/GPC Tech for recognized student organizations
  • Provides scholarships for Mizzou Alternative Breaks participants
  • Maintaining free and low-cost events for students, such as the free Wednesday-night film series, Flick on Faurot, buyouts at Regal Cinemas and other specialty film events
  • Provided programs such as an alcohol and drug screening day, fraternity and sorority diversity training, leadership development training and an alternative breaks service fair
